Finding Joy in Stories

This 1-credit, 4-week course is entirely self-paced and can be taken anytime between March 4, 2026 - August 20, 2026.

At a Glance

This class will look beyond data at stories that find joy rooted in the reality of the classroom. Participants will read Sticky Notes-Memorable Lessons from Ordinary Moments by Matt Eicheldinger, a Minnesota middle school teacher. We will focus on the Developmental Relationships framework (Search Institute research) to find joy in caring, growth, support, respect, and possibilities. These actual classroom interactions capture friendship, concern, perspective, and kindness. The stories find joy in the impact teachers and students have on each other and the greater message within every story. This course is one in the “Finding…” series Each class is a stand-alone without any prerequisite. You may take the classes in any order.
