Google Classroom - Beyond the Basics - AI, Differentiation, and Third-Party Mastery

This 2-credit, 4-week course is entirely self-paced and can be taken anytime between August 21, 2025 - August 20, 2026. NOTE: This syllabus was updated November 2025. This course was formerly known as “Google Classroom - Beyond the Basics” if you took that course previously and have a transcript for it, you cannot take this course again for license renewal or graduate credit. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Did you know that Google Classroom now integrates powerful Gemini AI, allows for seamless student grouping and differentiation, and features deeper integration with third-party tools via add-ons? If you're ready to use AI for lesson creation, personalize learning for every student, and leverage the newest Classroom features, then this course is for you! We will move beyond just using external apps with Classroom to deeply integrating them into the core of your course design, all while leveraging new AI tools for efficiency and personalization. This is not a basic how-to use Google Classroom course.
