Science Notebooks for Student Sensemaking

This 2-credit, 6-week course is entirely self-paced and can be taken anytime between August 21, 2026 - August 20, 2027.

At a Glance

This class begins by sharing the many research-based benefits of science notebooks, then equips you with frameworks, lesson plans, and guidance to effectively integrate them into your science curriculum. Not only will you learn the why of science notebooks and the logistics of their management, but you will also discover how to move from a mechanical/novice use of notebooks into an insightful/experienced use that empowers students to own their notebooks as personal records of their thinking.
